About me
Hello! Thank you for visiting my website. My name is Jeremy and I’m a Humanist Wedding Celebrant. Sounds a bit like I’m addressing a self-help group, but it’s merely a statement of fact.
Originally from Yorkshire, I moved south when I was 20 and have lived in Surrey pretty much ever since. A couple of years ago my life changed dramatically and I took the opportunity to do something completely different with my days. A friend suggested becoming a Humanist Wedding Celebrant, so I looked into it and realised straight away that it appealed to me greatly; not just the humanist aspect, which is actually how I’d been living my life for many years without labelling it, but also because it gave me the chance to really help people celebrate one of the most important days of their lives in exactly the way they wanted. As a result I undertook the (pretty intense) Humanists UK celebrant training course, passed with flying colours and here I am!

I spent many years working in the hospitality industry and that experience taught me many things – organisational skills, communication skills, patience, quick thinking, attention to detail and – very importantly – the ability to listen and help people have the best time. All of these come in very handy when you’re working with a couple planning their wedding!
I know you haven’t asked, but just in case you’re interested, I love walking, travelling far and wide, animals of most flavours, cinema, gigs and festivals, cars and driving, wine, dining out, cooking, and staring up at the stars. Also – and this is very important – I make really good cakes. Not wedding cakes, per se, more for personal consumption. But they’re really really good. Just so you know.
